Who Is the Tollywood Number 1 Hero?
Mahesh Babu is one of the biggest names in Telugu cinema and a popular choice in discussions about the Tollywood No. 1 hero. Films such as Okkadu, Pokiri, Dookudu and Srimanthudu helped build his reputation as a leading star. His screen presence, box-office history and dedicated fans are often cited by supporters. But there is no official, universally accepted ranking that names a single No. 1 Tollywood hero. This article compares the Mahesh Babu and Pawan Kalyan fan debate and looks at Mahesh Babu's award history.
Mahesh Babu appeared as a child artist in Needa (1979) and later became a leading actor with Rajakumarudu (1999). His work in Okkadu, Pokiri, Dookudu and Srimanthudu remains central to his career. He has supporters in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana as well as audiences outside the Telugu states. His career and fan following make him a frequent contender in the No. 1 hero debate, although claims about exact fan counts or box-office supremacy need a clearly defined measure.
